.54 / LIGHT GRID CLOTH
Light Grid Cloth is also known as Sail Cloth. It is made of Nylon Ripstop with a UV Stabilizing Coating, which gives it its parchment paper finish. It is extremely noisy when fabric is subjected to movement, airflow, etc.

Primary use: Medium diffusion of light which produces soft shadows and is more flattering to facial features by seeming to smooth wrinkles and lines. Introduces a significant amount of ambient bounce.

Safety**: NFR
There are many variables in calibrating light loss for Technical Textiles, such as the size of the diffusion, the distance of the light source to the diffusion, the distance of the diffusion to the subject or measuring device, the amount of ambient bounce not only produced by the diffusion itself, but other surrounding reflective surfaces, multiple light sources, etc. Then of course there is the light meter used in the calculations. Because of all the variables, we suggest that these calculations be used only to compare diffusion materials to each other. Don't assume that our calculations will be the same for similar materials from other manufacturers, as many of our sources are not the same. It is also not a good idea to compare different manufacturers light loss results, as their means of measuring may be completely different. We tested using two different methods. In each case the parameters are exactly the same for all Technical Textiles.
** The FR (Flame Retardant), IFR (Inherently Flame Retardant) and SE (Self Extinguishing) designations do NOT mean that these Fabric won't burn! In the case of FR, the fabric is treated with flame retardant chemicals, which will deminish with time and when subjected to damp or wet situations. IFR means that the fiber used in weaving the fabric is non combustible. This protection is there for the life of the fabric. Some of these fabrics WILL melt, eventhough both FR and IFR textiles have met or surpassed the standards of NFPA 701. SE (Self Extinguishing) fabrics will burn a bit longer than those with the NFPA 701 certificate, but self extinguish once the external flame source is no longer present. In all cases, the melted liquid is extemely hot and stays hot well after flames are extinguished and can cause serious burns! NFR fabrics are NOT treated and must be used with extreme caution
